PET BLOGGERS JOURNEY 2022
One of my favorite activities to do at the beginning of the year is participate in the Pet Bloggers Journey by Puppyintraining.com. It is an incredible chance to get to know other bloggers in the same field as mine as well as share what I’ve been up to. It’s also an amazing exercise to self-reflect and to keep track of my goals. So let,s get the party started…
1. When did you begin your blog and what do you currently write about on your blog?
I started my blog in the last quarter of 2020 and I write about everything to do with dog training and behavior. My blog mainly focuses on addressing training and behavioral problems faced in the first year of raising a puppy.
2. Name one thing about your blog, or one blogging goal that you accomplished during 2021, that made you most proud.
After months of procrastination, I finally got myself to start my Youtube channel. As of now I only have 44 subscribers and about 12 videos, but I’m proud that I kicked my comfort zone in the butt and got started.
3. What was the biggest blogging challenge you faced in 2021? How did you tackle it?
Consistency; in terms of content creation, writing blog posts and uploading on social media. As a blogger and a new Youtuber, there is so much on my plate, it’s easy to get distracted and sidetracked. I also tend to get easily demotivated when things don’t work out the way I wanted them to and at the speed at which I wanted them to.
I wouldn’t say I’ve tackled that completely as of yet, but I’m trying hard. I’ve decided I won’t judge the outcome of anything till I’ve written at least 150 blog posts and created 40 Youtube videos. I’m hoping this outlook should help me with consistency and motivation.
4. Tell us one thing you learned in 2021 that can help us all become better bloggers.
Just put yourself out there, consistently! There are 1000 strategies out there to create content, get traffic, SEO, blogging, grow Youtube channel, etc. But the bottom line of every strategy is CREATE CREATE CREATE. The more you put yourself out there, the more chances you have of people finding you.
I spent the majority of 2021 procrastinating and wondering if my content is good enough, failing to realize that the only way to find out if something is good is to actually test it.
5. What are your top three blogging goals for 2022?
I have 2 and all my efforts are directed to achieving these-
1. Grow my Youtube channel
2. Qualify my blog for Mediavine
6. In the perfect world, where do you see yourself and your blog one year from now?
In an ideal world, I see myself working as a full-time content creator.
7. If you had a $1,000 to spend on your blog how would you spend it?
Targeted ads for my Youtube channel and Blog.
8. What is one skill you’d like to learn or improve in 2022?
I have a few skills that I aim to improve in 2022 –
- Video editing
- Creative writing (I want to be a better storyteller)
- SEO
9. If you could ask the pet blogging community for help with one challenge you’re having with your blog, what would it be?
Please give me some feedback on my Youtube channel. Honest feedback. How do you think can I improve it?
I have one question for the other pet bloggers out there- What is the best tip/ strategy/ course you’ve received/ implemented as a pet blogger that really worked for you?
Looking forward to hearing from all of you. If you’re a pet blogger and would like to participate in the pet blogger’s journey, Click HERE.
